5 Healthy, High-Protein Dinner Recipes (With Full Macros and Calories)

Looking for healthy, high-protein dinners? Here are 5 easy recipes with full macros and calories per serving, from the coaches at Rising Sun Community Fitness in East Nashville.

You crushed your workout. Now don’t fumble the handoff in the kitchen.

Here’s the truth we tell every member at Rising Sun Community Fitness: training is the stimulus, but food is where the results actually get built. And protein is the star of the show — it repairs muscle, keeps you full, and helps you recover so you can show up ready for tomorrow’s session.

Most adults who train regularly should aim for roughly 0.7–1 gram of protein per pound of body weight per day. That sounds like a lot until dinner starts pulling its weight. So in 2026, let’s make dinner do its job. Here are five high-protein dinners that are genuinely healthy, genuinely easy, and genuinely delicious — with full macros so you’re not guessing.

1. Sheet-Pan Lemon Garlic Chicken and Veggies

Per serving (makes 4): 420 calories | 42g protein | 22g carbs | 17g fat

Ingredients: 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, 2 cups broccoli florets, 1 red bell pepper (sliced), 1 zucchini (sliced), 2 tbsp olive oil, 4 cloves garlic (minced), juice of 1 lemon, 1 tsp oregano, salt and pepper.

How to make it: Toss everything together on a sheet pan. Roast at 425°F for 22–25 minutes until the chicken hits 165°F internal. Squeeze extra lemon over the top. Done. One pan, one cutting board, zero excuses.

2. Turkey Taco Skillet Bowls

Per serving (makes 4): 465 calories | 40g protein | 42g carbs | 15g fat

Ingredients: 1.5 lbs 93% lean ground turkey, 1 packet (or 2 tbsp) taco seasoning, 1 can black beans (drained), 1 cup corn, 2 cups cooked brown rice, 1 cup shredded cheddar, salsa and Greek yogurt for topping.

How to make it: Brown the turkey in a large skillet, add seasoning and a splash of water, then stir in beans and corn until warm. Serve over rice, top with cheese, salsa, and a scoop of Greek yogurt (it’s sour cream’s stronger, higher-protein sibling).

3. Garlic Butter Shrimp and Quinoa

Per serving (makes 4): 390 calories | 38g protein | 34g carbs | 12g fat

Ingredients: 1.5 lbs peeled shrimp, 2 tbsp butter, 4 cloves garlic (minced), 1 cup dry quinoa (cooked per package), 3 cups baby spinach, juice of half a lemon, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper.

How to make it: Melt butter with garlic in a skillet, add shrimp and cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink. Toss in spinach until wilted, squeeze in lemon, and serve over quinoa. Dinner in 20 minutes flat — faster than your delivery app.

4. Slow Cooker Beef and Sweet Potato Chili

Per serving (makes 6): 435 calories | 39g protein | 36g carbs | 14g fat

Ingredients: 2 lbs 90% lean ground beef (browned first), 2 medium sweet potatoes (cubed), 1 can kidney beans (drained), 1 can diced tomatoes, 1 cup beef broth, 1 onion (diced), 2 tbsp chili powder, 1 tsp cumin, salt.

How to make it: Add everything to the slow cooker and cook on low for 6–7 hours. Come home to a house that smells incredible and a dinner that basically made itself. Leftovers are even better — hello, meal prep.

5. Baked Salmon with Roasted Broccoli and Rice

Per serving (makes 4): 480 calories | 40g protein | 35g carbs | 19g fat

Ingredients: 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each), 4 cups broccoli florets, 1 tbsp olive oil, 2 cups cooked jasmine rice, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp honey, 1 clove garlic (minced).

How to make it: Whisk soy sauce, honey, and garlic; brush over salmon. Toss broccoli with olive oil on the same sheet pan. Bake at 400°F for 12–15 minutes. Salmon brings the protein plus omega-3s, which help fight the inflammation your workouts (and life) create.

The Bottom Line

High-protein dinners don’t have to be boring chicken and sad steamed vegetables. Rotate these five through your week and you’ll recover better, stay fuller, and make real progress toward your goals — whether that’s fat loss, muscle gain, or just having energy left at 7 p.m.
